Independencia o mort by mausetta Independencia o mort by mausetta
I read an article by Jair Domínguez last week with the title of the drawing [link] which means "independence or death".
It triggered the idea of representing an allegory of my country, Catalonia, and it's actual situation.
As you can see it's not really encouraging, but we still fight for her freedom :)
Hope you like it!

Independencia o mort by *mausetta. A fantastic painting - the amount of care that went into the execution is evident. The details are just amazing! ( Suggested by Miss-Blueglasses and Featured by alicexz )

Amazing work" "Independência ou morte" (in portuguese) was actually what Dom Pedro screamed to free my country. :)

It is amazing, the mood of this piece really apeals to me. Also, don't worry freedom always comes to those who fight for it. Hope you submit more like this. XD

I don't know if you already know this but...''Independence or death'' is a very remarkable sentence that comes from Brazil's history of Independence, where at the river Ipiranga (where now a days is São Paulo) in tSeptember 7 of 1822, D. Pedro de Alcantara de Bragança, regent prince of Brasil and royal prince of the united kingdom of Portugal, yelled ''Independencia ou morte !!'' which is called ''grito do ipiranga'' or ''yell of ipiranga''.
